Roman Holiday Ludi Cereales: Roman Festival of the goddess, Ceres
(A celebration of Ancient Mediterranean cultures and the conservation of the historic Fisher Collection of Greek and Romancasts at Beloit College at the Wright Museum)

This is a general schedule of activities. A more detailed schedule wil be available at the information desk with hourly events on Saturday.

11a.m. Blessing of community pets. All pets welcome. Rev. Selena Fox to bless pets.

11a.m. - 6 p.m. Festivities for children and adults: ancient art, architecture, gender roles, armies, literature, history, theatre, religion, poetry readings, clothing and costumes of the Roman, Spartan and Athenian cultures. The Roman Legion will be encamped at the museum. The Legion's location will be marked by an orange flag for the tents.

7p.m. Toga Party- Dress as a god, a Greek, Roman, Egyptian, even barbarians are welcome! Honor our project donors, guests, and the Roman Legion. Light fare served.

9 p.m. Showing of the movie, Ben Hur.

Please confirm to Dave or Tony Rajer (art conservator, adjunct professor Museum Studies) that you will be attending. Thank you. We look forward to all who can join us. *Note: Legion participants should arrive between 9-11a.m. on Saturday to help with preparations and set up.
