About Us
Who We Are
Legion XIIII is a non-profit organization that portrays a typical Ancient Roman legion from the first few centuries in living history demonstrations and reenacting.
Our goal is to preserve and understand the life of the Roman soldier during the first through third centuries. Through practical experience and academic research we not only keep alive the ways of the Roman army, but can better share that knowledge and experience in order to heighten public awareness of that part of our world's history. Legion XIIII's focus is to bring to life the Roman life, civilization and its impact on history, not only for the benefit of the public that might not otherwise experience such a tangible portrayal of history; but for ourselves, that we might appreciate and understand, as best we can, the experience of the individuals of Ancient times.

Join Us!
We are accepting recruits that are energetic, physically sound, quality minded, and have an interest in history and doing what we do.
Because much of what we do is for the benefit of the public our effort is focused on making how we look, and how we function as historically correct as we can. We continuously strive to improve our individual as well as our overall "impression." All members, therefore, are expected to maintain at least the minimum standards dictated by the information on the attire page.
While we are primarily a Roman soldier legion, we encourage our members or their family to get involved to portray various historical figures, or camp followers, who supply and outfit the regimental camp; however, members are expected to have at least a cursory working knowledge of all aspects of our reenactment so you will be able to interpret the events of our camp for visitors.
